JOB DESCRIPTION:
This position works at the Burnaby Village Museum (BVM) under Program Services.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Plan, develop, schedule, implement, coordinate, evaluate, and revise a variety of programs.

  • Research, consult on, assess needs for, and design new programs.

  • Plan, assign, schedule, train, supervise, and review the work of auxiliary staff and direct the work of contract instructors.

  • Provide site supervision and participate in operational activities.

  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external contacts.

  • Assist a supervisor in preparing preliminary operating budget estimates for programs.

  • Exercise considerable independent judgment within established guidelines.

  • Refer unusual problems or policy matters to a supervisor.

  • Perform related work as required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • University degree in Museology, History, First Nations, Education, or related discipline plus sound related experience, preferably including supervisory experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

  • Sound knowledge of the school curriculum and of the interests and needs of the community served.

  • Ability to design, develop, coordinate, schedule, supervise, implement, and evaluate programs.

  • Ability to prepare and maintain records, reports, correspondence, and other materials.

  • Valid Driver’s License for the Province of British Columbia.

  • Police Information Check is required.

REMUNERATION:
$4,486 – 4,672 – 4,865 – 5,060 – 5,270/month (2024 Rates)
