JOB DESCRIPTION:
This position works at the Burnaby Village Museum (BVM) under Program Services.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Plan, develop, schedule, implement, coordinate, evaluate, and revise a variety of programs.
Research, consult on, assess needs for, and design new programs.
Plan, assign, schedule, train, supervise, and review the work of auxiliary staff and direct the work of contract instructors.
Provide site supervision and participate in operational activities.
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external contacts.
Assist a supervisor in preparing preliminary operating budget estimates for programs.
Exercise considerable independent judgment within established guidelines.
Refer unusual problems or policy matters to a supervisor.
Perform related work as required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
University degree in Museology, History, First Nations, Education, or related discipline plus sound related experience, preferably including supervisory experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Sound knowledge of the school curriculum and of the interests and needs of the community served.
Ability to design, develop, coordinate, schedule, supervise, implement, and evaluate programs.
Ability to prepare and maintain records, reports, correspondence, and other materials.
Valid Driver’s License for the Province of British Columbia.
Police Information Check is required.

REMUNERATION:
$4,486 – 4,672 – 4,865 – 5,060 – 5,270/month (2024 Rates)
