Job Description:
Temporary Tactile is seeking a First Aid Attendant to be on standby at an upcoming outdoor tactile art workshop series. This is a public workshop, and you would be present to respond in case of an accident or medical emergency.
The series runs across two dates: Saturday, August 15 and Saturday, September 5, 2026. Each day is a 4-hour shift, 10:30 AM–2:30 PM, at Main Street & 50th Avenue Plaza, Vancouver.
We are hiring either 2 individuals (one per shift) or 1 person who can work both dates. When you apply, please tell us whether you want a single shift or both.
This is a standby role—you are not required to assist with running the workshop. Your job is to be present, alert, and ready to respond if first aid is needed. The workshop takes place outdoors, rain or shine.
Responsibilities:
- Remain on site and available for the full shift in case of accident or medical emergency
- Provide first aid as needed (the main anticipated hazards are minor: paper and thin-metal cuts from art supplies, plus any general unexpected first aid)
- Be alert and ready to respond, even during quiet stretches
- Wear an N95 mask if requested by a participant (masks provided)
Qualifications:
- A current general CPR certification is required
- CPR-C (including infant/child) is strongly preferred
- Willingness to work outdoors, rain or shine.
- Comfort being present in a space centred on Blind, Low-Vision, and Disabled participation
