Craft Council of British Columbia is a charitable arts service organization supporting all stages of artistic practice in the craft sector and creating opportunities for artists to produce, exhibit, and sell their art. We also work to develop active communities around craft, provide a voice for artists and craft organizations, and increase the audience of contemporary craft in BC.

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY DESCRIPTION:
We are looking for a volunteer to help with our online shop by adding information for products, adding alt-text, and SEO. This is a great opportunity to gain professional experience working with an arts organization, learn new and improve skills, and connect with the local craft community. We provide training, guidance, and references upon request.

You will be working with the Social Enterprise team to add the artwork we carry, ranging from ceramics, glass, wood, textiles, jewellery, and more, onto our online shop. We are also looking for help in updating our online website to be more engaging and reach more audiences. There is a lot of opportunity for growth with our online presence and we are looking for volunteers to help us meet that potential.

This role will directly support artists and CCBC by helping us increase our digital visibility and sales.

This position has flexible scheduling options and is on-site only at our Granville Island location (1386 Cartwright St., Vancouver).

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Create online product listings

  • Create and organize product collections

  • Add keywords, alt-text, and other SEO features

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • No experience needed, just an interest in ecommerce and online marketing
