Vetta Chamber Music is recognized as a mature organization that supports Vancouver’s chamber music scene through the highest quality programming, performances, and mentorship.
Embarking on its 40th Anniversary with the 2025/2026 season, Vetta will celebrate how it has engaged, connected, and shared music together for four decades. From its original string quartet roots in the 1980s, Vetta has grown into a season of more than twenty concerts bridging generations through a mentorship programme, cross-cultural projects, and its beloved chamber music series. Five sets of concerts are performed each season, with every programme being presented in West Point Grey United Church, West Vancouver United Church, Pyatt Hall, and ArtSpring on Salt Spring Island.
At its core, Vetta Chamber Music remains committed to offering intimate, high-quality musical experiences, performed by the finest musicians from Vancouver and beyond, to bring personal connections to its devoted and cherished audiences.

JOB DESCRIPTION:
Vetta Chamber Music seeks a General Manager who will support and enhance the artistic and organizational excellence of one of Vancouver’s legacy chamber music organizations.
This three-quarter time contract position offers many opportunities for experience, growth, and autonomy when you bring your own set of skills and talents which will include production, financial, and administration tools.
Reporting to the Board of Directors and working closely with the Artistic Director, the General Manager will be responsible for the overall management and supervision of Vetta Chamber Music’s operations and presentations. The position has four primary areas of focus: Planning & Production; Financial; Fundraising; and Administration & Operations.
Hours are flexible, generally working during the day, Monday to Friday. During busy concert weeks, Vetta will require your flexibility to be present at rehearsals and concerts on site, managing these events during evenings and weekends.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Planning & Production:
Plan each season’s dates and book rehearsal and performance venues
Prepare, manage, and implement all performing artist contracts
Book travel and accommodation for all visiting artists
Collaborate with volunteer coordinators to ensure sufficient volunteer support for each performance
Coordinate venue and stage management at all performance venues
Oversee all productions to meet artist, audience, and organization needs
Collect all printed program materials and work with program designer/typesetter and printer to ensure timely design and printing
Book travel to/from Salt Spring Island for five performances per season
Plan and oversee all marketing materials with marketing contractor
Set up ticketing with Vancouver ticketing service and ArtSpring
Coordinate with media partners and manage some online advertising campaigns
Financial:
Work closely with the Treasurer and Artistic Director to manage a $250K budget
Manage all banking and payables, including artist fees and vendors
Fundraising:
Plan and implement annual fundraising campaigns
Lead all private and public grant applications and reporting
Research new fundraising sources
Maintain communication and cultivate relationships with major donors
Administration & Operations:
Manage and coordinate with contract staff
Manage filing systems and database (Zoho Creator)
Serve as first point of contact with audience and public
QUALIFICATIONS:
Creative, collaborative, innovative, and self-motivated arts administrator
Flexible and adaptable with strong detail, systems, and financial management
Comfortable with Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Experience managing a small performing arts organization
Minimum five years’ experience in a similar position
Eligible to work in Canada
