This is a term position from November 19 - December 8, 2025. Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity aims to inspire everyone who attends our campus – artists, leaders, and thinkers – to unleash their creative potential. The Opportunity: Banff Centre is looking for a Theatre Practitioner Level 3 - Hair and Makeup who can work collaboratively to provide support for this fall's Indigenous Fashion Runway Residency performances.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist with hair and makeup for both live performance and video capture on site.

  • Assist with fitting hair pieces and wigs for cast members.

  • Assist with professional makeup application for performers.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Theatre Practitioner level 2: must have a minimum of 3 years’ experience as a working practitioner in their discipline within a Theatre or Performing Arts production environment

  • Theatre Practitioner level 3: must have a minimum of 5 years’ experience as a working practitioner in their discipline within a Theatre or Performing Arts production environment

  • Has completed a formal theatre education

  • Must have a working knowledge of the theories and practices that support this discipline

  • Strong interpersonal skills, and ability to stay calm under pressure

  • Able to work with tight, changing timelines in a fast-paced environment

  • Knowledgeable of related industry trends including the application of up-to-date techniques, and use of special materials and current health and safety standards

  • Able to apply professional theatre techniques and methods to provide the quality, efficiency, and support level required by Performing Arts

Special Requirements:

  • Due to the nature of the job, this position requires the candidate to be available to work a flexible, irregular schedule and weekends.

REMUNERATION:
$22.59 to $31.51 per hour
