We preserve historically valuable community records, artifacts, and cultural belongings; making them meaningful to the public by organizing exhibitions, delivering educational programs, caring for collections, and providing access to archival information.

JOB DESCRIPTION:
MONOVA: Museum & Archives of North Vancouver is seeking a dynamic and experienced Social Media Content Creator to support our Communications & Marketing department. This is an opportunity for a visionary creative who can elevate our digital presence, grow our follower base, and spark meaningful engagement with the stories of North Vancouver and its people.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and execute a strategic Social Media Plan aligned with MONOVA’s mission and goals

  • Create, schedule and publish engaging, educational, and promotional content across Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn (exploring new platforms for MONOVA where valuable opportunities exist)

  • Grow and manage MONOVA’s online community, increasing followers and driving meaningful interactions

  • Monitor trends and analytics to optimize content performance and audience growth

  • Collaborate with internal teams to amplify programming, exhibitions, and events

  • Produce short-form videos, reels, and stories using tools like Canva, CapCut, or Adobe Suite

  • Write compelling captions and copy that reflect MONOVA’s voice and values

  • Respond to comments, messages, and mentions in a timely and professional manner

  • Submit posts for pre-approval when needed and maintain a content calendar

  • Provide monthly performance reports with insights and recommendations

  • Attend biweekly team check-ins to brainstorm, plan campaigns, and discuss progress

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • An experienced social media enthusiast with creative flair and demonstrable success

  • Skilled in content creation, video editing, copywriting, and analytics

  • Proficient with Canva, Meta Business Suite, and scheduling platforms

  • Passionate about storytelling, community engagement, and cultural heritage

  • Comfortable working independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment

  • Knowledgeable about accessibility and inclusive digital practices

  • Bonus: Experience in nonprofit, museum, or cultural sectors
