Job Description:
Driver at Elia Kirby Productions Ltd (EKP Ltd) doing business as Great Northern Way Scene Shop (GNW). This position is responsible for driving materials, constructed projects, and other items for transport to delivery locations, as well as assisting with installations and strikes.
Responsibilities:
The driver serves the transport needs of the company, as well as provides assistance with installations, strikes, and physical-plant duties, as required: -Drives vehicles to deliver, pick-up, and return in a safe and timely manner: constructed projects, materials, and client items for transport service -Obeys all provincial driving regulations as well as company transport and delivery policies and procedures -Loads and unloads vehicles in a safe and efficient manner to ensure that all transported items arrive in top condition -Provides excellent client service and builds relationships with vendors and venue managers -Participates in transport-department operations by upholding standards, by following vehicle maintenance and repair schedules, by maintaining transport records, and by communicating effectively with designated staff
Qualifications:
High school graduation with a minimum of 2-years professional experience in the fields of technical theatre, production services, event logistics, and/or delivery services
Class 5 drivers license required and a clean driver’s abstract from ICBC
Proven experience driving 1 and 5-tonne trucks
Able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs/22 kg and effectively use handtrucks, pallet jacks, carts, and other safe methods of moving items
Knowledge of production and safety practices in the entertainment industry
Effective interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to understand and follow directions
Strong customer service skills are required in maintaining and building relationships with clients, vendors, and venue managers
Some experience with basic vehicle maintenance tasks, including working with a mechanic to keep vehicles in working order
Experience keeping accurate transport records is an asset -Knowledge of building materials and local vendors is an asset
Able to use Google Workplace tools to track transport schedules and needs -Able to work well on a deadline in a fast-changing environment

Remuneration:
