The ideal candidate has a strong background in ceramics, excellent communication skills, and a genuine enthusiasm for teaching. You will plan and deliver engaging lessons, demonstrate techniques in pottery and ceramic art, and support students in developing their technical skills, creativity, and confidence.
Responsibilities include guiding students through various processes and materials, introducing glazing techniques, and providing constructive feedback to support their artistic growth. Organization, creativity, and a collaborative spirit are key to success in this role.

Responsibilities:
• Create and deliver dynamic ceramics classes and workshops for a range of skill levels, covering hand-building, wheel-throwing, glazing, and surface decoration techniques
• Demonstrate processes and proper use of tools and equipment to support safe, hands-on learning
• Provide individualized guidance and constructive feedback to help students build technical skills and confidence
• Bring professionalism, preparedness, and reliability to each class, contributing to a supportive and vibrant arts community
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace, including proper care of materials, tools, and equipment
• Monitor student progress and communicate effectively with students, families, and colleagues as needed
• Collaborate with staff to ensure smooth program delivery and a positive studio culture
• Uphold all studio policies and safety procedures, while contributing ideas to enhance best practices
• Stay current with emerging ceramic techniques and incorporate fresh ideas into programming
• Foster a welcoming, inclusive studio environment that encourages creativity and artistic exploration
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in ceramics or related field
• Minimum of 2 years of experience teaching ceramics
• Proficiency in various ceramic techniques and processes.
• Strong knowledge of different types of clay and glazes
• Ability to create engaging lesson plans tailored to diverse learner needs and experience levels
• Ability to manage a classroom and maintain a positive learning environment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Experience operating and maintaining ceramics equipment
• Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed for classes and workshops
