Vancouver Pro Musica is a non-profit society dedicated to the presentation and promotion of new works by B.C. composers. Our concerts, workshops, educational initiatives and multicultural partnerships help create a strong, vibrant musical community in British Columbia. Since its inception in 1986, Vancouver Pro Musica has proudly presented hundreds of premiers by talented emerging and established local composers, primarily through our annual Sonic Boom Festival of New Composition.

Volunteer Opportunity Description:
Vancouver Pro Musica is calling for new board members. We are singularly dedicated to enriching the new composition community of British Columbia, and seek creative energy to address new terrains of public engagement. Fundraising support is needed, but also people with interest in developing novel video engagements with composers & musicians. We have space for myriad skills and talents, and as a VPM board member the only real requirement is love for local new composition. We meet once a month with a savvy, fun group and in between are currently preparing fall programming prospects.
Responsibilities:
- Attend monthly board meetings and board trainings. (12 board meetings per year, each on Sunday afternoons; AGM will be in October). The board meetings typically take place online over Zoom, but occasionally will be in-person.
- Attend and promote VPM concerts and festivals (fall programming will take place in November, the Sonic Boom Festival of New Composition takes place in March)
- Fundraising
- Other initiatives as discussed with fellow board members
Qualifications:
We are very open to meeting new board members from different backgrounds and skill sets who share our core values and wish to promote new composition in BC.
