The Opportunity
The Audio Visual Technician provides a complete range of audio-visual services and equipment to meet a variety of user requests from all areas of Banff Centre, including clients, visiting artists, and faculty.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Coordinate and book all equipment requests, verify equipment integrity, deliver and set up equipment according to client specifications, test functionality, and troubleshoot as needed.
Sign out equipment for tracking and billing purposes and retrieve equipment both on and off campus.
Manage overbooking of equipment, retrieve items after client use, inspect for damage, and verify integrity upon return.
Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on equipment.
Meet or confer with clients to determine equipment needs, research creative solutions, and provide operation instructions as required.
Serve as a dedicated technician/operator when needed.
Deliver excellent customer service to all clients.
Address identified security, safety, or operational issues.
Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum one year of formal post-secondary training in computing, electronics, or a related discipline.
Minimum two years of experience in all aspects of audio-visual delivery and production, including design, setup, operation, and minor maintenance of AV systems and equipment.
Competence in the setup and operation of AV and specialized computer equipment and software used in recording, production, and duplication of audio and video content.
Strong clerical skills for preparing quotations, invoices, and booking/tracking equipment.
Valid driver’s license.
Special Requirements
Availability to work evenings and weekends as required.
Employment Terms and Benefits
In accordance with CUPE 4318, this is a unionized, salaried support staff position, subject to a six-month probationary period.
Annual salary: $44,345.60 – $46,571.20, based on experience, for a 40-hour work week.
