Job Description:

The ideal candidate will be able to work independently and have an eye for detail in addition to good communication skills. The bookkeeper is responsible for planning, implementing and maintaining financial functions within the company.

Responsibilities:

• Full cycle accounting, including Account Receivable, Accounts Payable, Payroll and remittances for one company.
• Preparation of T4’s & T4A, filing GST and payroll remittance, Workers Compensation Board and summaries.
• Preparation of finance reports for various departments monthly. Post journal entries and prepare bank reconciliations.
• Distributing monthly G/L reports.
• Process invoices as needed and posting payments using Moneris and banking.
• Act as the Privacy Policy Officer for the company.
• Record weekly ticketing sales transactions in Sage 50
• Prepare weekly payroll, ROE’s and tracking vacation and sick days for five permanent employees plus additional contractors and employees during yearly festival.
• Reports to the Box Office Manager and must also take guidance from the accountant and the Executive Director.

Qualifications:

• Completion of post-secondary education.
• Minimum of two year’s experience in full set of books (handling A/R, A/P, Payroll, General Journal and General Ledger in two fiscal years including year end).
• Candidate should have at least completed module 1 to 5.2 in CPA prep courses or level 3 CGA education or equivalent.
• Payroll experience (Dayforce/Ceridian) and good working knowledge of Sage 50 accounting.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook).
• Experience with non-profit &/ or charity organizations and ticketing system is an asset.
• Able to work independently as well as with a team.
• Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
