The ACT Arts Centre (The ACT), located in the community of Maple Ridge and part of the Greater Vancouver Regional District (GVRD), is the leading provider of engaging, vibrant and excellent Arts Programs, Gallery Exhibitions and Performing Arts Presentations for the growing communities of the region. Opened in 2003, and managed by the Maple Ridge and Pitt Meadows Arts Council, the 486-seat theatre, studio theatre and instruction studios are home to hundreds of cultural and community events, delivering an array of diverse arts and cultural programming and activities to over 70,000 patrons annually.

Job Description:
The Design and Digital Marketing Specialist is responsible for all visual communications for The ACT Arts Centre (including live performances, Arts Learning programs, and the Gallery), covering graphic design (Adobe Creative Cloud), website management (Squarespace), digital marketing (social media, Google Ads), and email marketing campaigns via third-party vendors.
As part of a dynamic team, the position requires in-person attendance at The ACT Arts Centre, generally within standard business hours of 9am- 5pm, Monday through Friday.
Responsibilities:
Duties & Outcomes
• Design and manage production of all traditional and digital materials for B2C marketing for over 70 performances, events, exhibitions and programs, including season brochures, event specific collateral, signage, advertising, direct and digital campaigns, and web content,
• Manage and maintain The ACT Arts Centre current website, SEO/SEM, provide ongoing
monitoring/troubleshooting of any issues.
• Support the creation of seasonal, monthly, and social media images and videos.
• Ensure design and brand identity standards are followed.
• Assist with other marketing duties or projects as assigned by the Manager, Marketing, Communications and Brand.
Qualifications:
Required Abilities, Skills and Knowledge:
• Post-secondary education certificate or degree in design or marketing, including and/or supplemented through related training and work experience in marketing, design and website management;
• Familiarity with basic HTML coding for formatting email templates, landing pages, or updating web content;
• Proven experience and proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud, website design, Google Analytics, and standard desktop applications;
• Proven experience with search engine marketing and optimization;
• Must have 1-2 years’ experience in an in-person professional work environment;
• Knowledge of video production;
• Superior written and spoken English language skills and excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
• Must be able to multi-task and prioritize, maintain attention to detail and flexibility, work well independently and as part of a team, and maintain discretion & confidentiality;
• Cultural literacy and experience working in, and/or participating within the arts community an asset;
• Accountable for project management and meeting task deadlines.
Eligibility
• Must be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or a person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment
• Must have Valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulation.

Remuneration:
$59,000 per annum; paid vacation; generous sick leave; extended health after successful completion of a 3-month probation period.
