JOB DESCRIPTION:
Naughty Comrade Tattoo is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Tattoo Artist (NOC 63211) to join our team. The successful candidate will create high-quality, custom tattoo designs, consult with clients, and execute tattoo work with precision and creativity. This permanent, full-time position requires 35–40 hours per week, with flexible availability including weekends. Regular shifts run from 10:00 am – 6:00 pm, with one tattoo session prepared and executed per day alongside consultations. The role includes maintaining strict health and safety standards, collaborating with other artists, and contributing to promotional efforts.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Create high-quality, custom tattoo designs based on clients’ requests and artistic vision.

  • Consult with and advise clients regarding size, colour, design, placement, and aftercare.

  • Design and execute highly technical, custom tattoo work with precision and creativity.

  • Use a tattoo machine to permanently pigment clients’ skin according to approved designs.

  • Repair and mask aesthetic defects, including cover-up tattoos and modifications.

  • Maintain a safe and hygienic working environment by following sterilization and sanitation protocols set by Vancouver Coastal Health.

  • Operate, sterilize, and maintain tattooing equipment and work areas per industry regulations.

  • Manage appointment scheduling and client records, including consent forms and design approvals.

  • Welcome walk-in clients and provide exceptional customer service.

  • Collaborate with other artists and staff to maintain a professional, creative studio environment.

  • Stay updated with tattooing trends, techniques, and safety regulations.

  • Assist in promotional events, social media engagement, and marketing to increase studio visibility.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Completion of secondary school (high school).

  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a tattoo artist.

  • Experience in a tattoo studio environment.

  • Exceptional artistic talent and technical skill in operating a tattoo machine.

  • Expertise in colour realism.

  • High-level artistic work.

  • International tattoo competition award is an asset.
