JOB DESCRIPTION:
Clayton Community Centre is seeking a qualified, energetic, and creative music instructor to join our Performing Arts team. Instructors will teach general music to children aged 6 to 12 in a group setting. Classes will include rhythm, music exploration, movement, and an introduction to piano, guitar, and voice. We are looking for individuals who are passionate about working with children and creating fun, safe, and inclusive learning environments. This is a casual, non-benefitted position.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Teach general music classes to children ages 6–12 in a group setting

  • Introduce basic concepts in rhythm, movement, and musical expression

  • Incorporate piano, guitar, and voice into class instruction

  • Foster a welcoming, supportive, and engaging learning environment

  • Communicate effectively with students and parents

  • Ensure classes are delivered in a safe and inclusive manner

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • RCM Level 10 or equivalent training

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience teaching music to children

  • Comfortable teaching group classes and working with a range of instruments

  • Emergency First Aid and CPR-C certification

  • High level of interpersonal and communication skills

  • Clear Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening
