Richmond’s Public Art Program sparks community participation in the building of our public spaces, offers access to ideas generated by contemporary art, encourages citizens to take pride in public cultural expression, and creates a forum to address a range of relevant themes and issues. Moreover, art energizes our public spaces, arouses our thinking and transforms the places where we live, work, and play into more welcoming and beautiful environments that invite interaction.
Since the Program’s inception in 1997, the City has collected close to 350 works of public art with almost 200 works currently on display around Richmond.

JOB DESCRIPTION:
Are you passionate about art in public spaces? If so, the City’s Public Art Program would like to hear from you as it updates the Public Art Selection Panelist Pool for the next two years.
Selection panels are an integral part of the Richmond Public Art Program, reviewing artist proposals and making recommendations on public art projects. This Open Call is to renew the Program’s pool of eligible people who can be called upon to serve on selection panels from January 2026 to December 2027. Artists, arts professionals, community members and other interested persons who reside in Richmond or Metro Vancouver are invited to apply.
Up to 100 individuals (aged 19+ years) will be selected, with priority given to Richmond residents and those who self-identify as a member of an equity-seeking and/or under-represented community.
Roster selection panelists who are invited to take part in an artist selection process will receive an honorarium between $100 and $300.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Selection Panelists will be required to attend up to two (2) meetings. Each meeting approx. 2 hrs. Additional time of up to two (2) hours may be required to review artist submissions prior to the Selection Panel meetings.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Artists, arts professionals, community members and other interested persons who reside in Richmond or Metro Vancouver are invited to apply.
