JOB DESCRIPTION:
Delta Parks, Recreation & Culture is looking for a reliable and well-organized individual to work in our Art Centres as a Theatre Attendant. This work involves public contact in a theatre setting and includes a variety of routine tasks to assist patrons and ensure they are comfortably situated. The Theatre Attendant will deliver front-line customer service by providing theatre guidance, information, and assistance to patrons. In addition, they will ensure visitor safety, sell confectionery items, provide basic bar service, and manage coat check.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Observe patrons entering or seeking entrance to the theatre; sell and collect tickets at events
• Greet patrons and direct them to seat locations indicated on tickets; resolve seating issues as appropriate
• Perform coat check duties
• Prepare and sell food and beverage items such as coffee, tea, soft drinks, and packaged snacks; provide basic bar service for beer and wine
• Take payment and ensure proper handling of cash and credit card records
• Ensure the front of house is presentable and tidy at all times
• Maintain order and adherence to safety rules and code of conduct; respond appropriately to accidents and emergency situations
• Assist with event set-up and take-down
• Perform other related duties as required

QUALIFICATIONS:
• Completion of Grade 12, preferably supplemented by related experience in bartending and/or food service; or an equivalent combination of training and experience
• Serving It Right Certificate
• Food Safe Level 1
• Standard First Aid Certificate
• Current CPR “C” Certification and Automatic External Defibrillator (AED) Certification
• Willingness to work a variety of shifts including daytime, evenings, and weekends
