JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Business Development Lead supports the strategy and execution of Mountain Culture objectives, primarily the Banff Centre Mountain Film Festival World Tour and Banff on Demand programs. Working closely with the World Tour Manager, Festival Manager, and the Director of Mountain Culture, this position develops increased and new business for Mountain Culture, resulting in increased revenues.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develops and executes strategies for new and existing World Tour and Banff on Demand markets.
Identifies and recruits new global partners and hosts, providing onboarding and troubleshooting support.
Leads annual host webinars, programming reviews, and customer support.
Plans and coordinates World Tour and Banff on Demand screenings and projects.
Prepares financial reports, manages records, and ensures brand and policy compliance.
Provides training, marketing liaison, and sponsorship fulfillment support.
Explores new revenue-generating opportunities for Mountain Culture programs.
QUALIFICATIONS:
University degree in a related field with at least 3 years of experience in festival or event planning.
Strong background in marketing, business planning, and digital communications.
Excellent organizational, communication, and analytical skills.
Experience with Microsoft Office, Smartsheet, Basecamp, Slack, and other digital tools.
Ability to manage multiple projects and work independently.
Knowledge of the outdoor and film industry is required; additional languages an asset.
Willingness to work flexible hours and travel as needed.

REMUNERATION:
$61,464.00 – $64,521.60 annually, based on experience (40 hours/week). Includes benefits, pension plan, staff housing options (subject to availability), professional development, hybrid work schedule, and employee discounts.
