JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Firehall Arts Centre is seeking an enthusiastic Box Office Attendant to join our team. We are looking for someone who is passionate about customer service, inspired by theatre, dance, and music. Our ideal candidate is someone who enjoys being part of a team making art happen and is also willing to be cross-trained on other positions (ex. Bartending, Front of House).
Job Overview:
Reporting to the Audience Services Manager and General Manager, this is an excellent opportunity for a box office professional, with strong customer service skills, looking to work at a busy arts facility and help to develop the efficient operations of its show operations and ticketing system.
Please note: Our ideal candidate is willing to be cross-trained in other positions in addition to Box Office (ex. Bartender, Front of House). Please see our job posting for the Bartender position as well.
Hours of Work:
Hours vary each month, depending on the number of shows. Candidates must be available to work three shifts per show week, with an average of 5-10 shifts per month, most of which will be in the evening.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Box Office sales including single ticket sales, subscriptions, and memberships, in person, by phone, and via email using the Spektrix Ticketing program
Selling tickets before theatre, dance, and music performances
Providing excellent customer service, as the first point of contact for patrons attending our shows/events
End of day procedures and cash outs
Handling transactions with attention to detail, discretion, and security, and maintaining a professional behavior when handling customer requests
QUALIFICATIONS:
The ideal candidate will have a passion for theatre, dance, and music and a genuine interest in the work of the Firehall Arts Centre. Experience with ticketing programs, understanding of Spektrix is an asset
Demonstrates impeccable skills in working with the public, maintaining a positive attitude, flexibility, and an ability to listen to concerns and resolve problems creatively
Must have good communication skills
Strong computer skills and knowledge

REMUNERATION:
$21 per hour
