Boca del Lupo has a foundation in theatre but has evolved into a multi-disciplinary company often partnering with artists and organizations beyond the conventional boundaries of our form. Collaboration is the core tenet of our creativity. Working across cultures and disciplines, our productions are energized by the collision and confluence of difference. Since our inception in 1996, our artistic focus has been one that explores cultural hybridity and interdisciplinarity through consciously convening artists from diverse backgrounds. We have toured extensively nationally and internationally, maintain a strong level of engagement with our professional arts services organizations, and provide meaningful outreach into the community. Focusing on expanding creative possibilities through innovation and collaboration, we have a repertoire that includes 60 original creations and unique presentations.

JOB DESCRIPTION:
In November 2025, Boca del Lupo will be hosting three Artist Retreats on the Sunshine Coast, across three weeks. The artists will be given the chance to work on their individual projects, with consultation and input from Boca Artistic Directors Jay Dodge and Sherry J. Yoon.

The Artist Retreat Coordinator has care for artists in addition to an ability to execute and work independently. They are the main person responsible for the planning, coordination, and hosting of Boca del Lupo’s Artist Retreat program. This role works closely with Artistic Directors Jay Dodge and Sherry J. Yoon.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Coordinate artist arrival, accommodations, per diems, hosting, and departure.

  • Administer contracts with artists and related scheduling/logistics.

  • Manage communication, marketing, and development requirements.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • This is a contract position, with approximately 30 hours expected between Oct. 20 to Dec. 1, with greater availability required from Nov. 17 to Nov. 28.

  • Some evenings and weekends will be required during the Artist Retreat, as well as being on call in case of emergencies.

  • Class 5 driver’s license is an asset.

  • Boca del Lupo is currently seeking individuals based on the Sunshine Coast.

REMUNERATION:
Rate of pay is $35/hour to a maximum of 30 hours (or $1,050) plus GST if applicable.
